Facilities Improvement Donation - Synthetic Turf Sports Lane

When we asked Colonel Dowling how MMAPO could support a facilities improvement project at MMA this year, he presented us with an exciting opportunity. The entire project was a bit out of our budget at $220,000, but MMAPO had the privilege of helping kick off the fundraising with a $20,000 donation.

Synthetic turf sports lane are becoming increasingly more common across the USA.  Workouts are more sophisticated, and gyms have correspondingly evolved. No longer do gym users simply lift weights or run on a treadmill. Nowadays, exercise routines are comprised of high intensity conditioning drills (HIIT), cross fit, sled work, ropes, and competitive sports training, among other activities.

The synthetic turf sports lane will allow our young men the ability to add a new dimension to their exercise routine and raise their bar competitively.  HIIT fitness is one of the most popular exercise programs in the health space, today. It combines strength and conditioning with the use of functional movements, such as pull-ups, squats, push-ups, weightlifting, running, rowing, and a host of others. Xfit is effective for losing weight, building strength, agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

While MMAPO's donation is a great step toward making this project a reality, MMA cannot begin construction until all funds necessary for completion are raised, so be patient. If you are interested in providing additional financial support for this project, please contact LtCol Robert Grider at Grider@mma-tx.org.
